Although I have found a way of installing it - the AVG system fails it as it just wont give it valiadation anyway. The people here who say it does, have clearly not actually tried it - as it will not install and run on a clean Xp-Pro installĪVG (and Avast, which is basically the same thing anyway) - will run and get updated databases with the last version 18 if its already installed - but I havent found a way of making it work with a fresh install of xp. basicaly everything mentioned here, despite they saying they support win xp, does not work. John, my building management computer (XP - Pro SP3) - crashed in late january, with dead backups - so I have needed to rebuild the whole operating system from a fresh install. Surely there is some antivirus program out there that will provide protection for XP from legacy viruses and malware up to the time support ended? Was using Trend Micro, but when support stopped, Trend Micro said sorry, our antivirus program will no longer run on XP machines. The problem is that with the end of support for XP, I have not been able to find any antivirus programs that will run on it. I have an old XP computer with a lot of software on it that I would like to keep and use.
